GOAL

To publicize the Container Separation Plant in Legazpi (Guipúzcoa) and create awareness on waste separation and recycling light packaging.

PROJECT

Packaging is part of our lives. Bottles, cans and bags are present when it comes to food and drink packaging and that of the household products we use on a daily basis. Most of these items are bought from supermarkets. That’s where they start out. But where do they end up? In the locality of Urola-Garaia in the province of Guipúzcoa, they end up at the Light Container Separation and Classification Plant in Legazpi.

Coinciding with the recent appointment ofFerrovial Services to manage the plant, we created the plant’s new corporate identity as well as an environmental education classroom with the slogan Recycling is Super / Superziklatu, recreating the key elements of a supermarket as the origin of most of the light packaging we use Via a team of environmental instructors, we hold monthly educational sessions in schools and associations in the locality to improve waste separation and recycling rates.

RESULTS

Thanks to this educational project over 1,000 students and locals in Guipúzcoa learned about waste separation and recycling.
